Jakarta is being missed. I've always tell others; once you've visited Jtown you will always wanna come back for more and every single thing is Jtown is being missed.
Jtown is all about fine dining, sky dining, clubbing, shopping and meet up with great people. Furthermore this trip was done with great people!
Friday 17thJuly
We were on our way to the airport when a good friend of ours called to inform us about the bomblast. It's like so near to our hotel. But we stayed cool cos Mama has experienced the 2003 once before. The first people I texted were my babes. Had 15minutes chat with them and they are all safe in the hotel. The 2 men were safe too. phew!
Met up with Ash, Wan and Abg Yan at the airport and that's when the whole journey begins. Bumped into Kak Suriani at the aiport as well. She's with her new talent, Iesya; a very pretty girl indeed. Our flight has been delayed for about 45minutes due to the bomb blast.
Landed at Soekarno Hatta Airport around 12-ish local time. Initial plan was to check in and meet up with the babes. But with all the delay and jam, we managed to check in at Grand Cemara only around 3wib. Had to reschedule all the appointments for the day. Everything was settled just before 7pm wib.
Met up with Pak Usman Paloh and family for dinner at one of my favorite seafood restaurant. Later we had Chinese tea at Plaza Indonesia. To be honest, most Indonesians are pretty cool about the whole bomb blast. Despite the loss of lives, others continue with their daily routine. Dining, saloon and shopping was done perfectly.
Ended the night perfectly by having my spa therapist doing her works on me.
Saturday 18thJuly
Woke up early. The thing about me is that when I travel I have the tendency to wake up real early, have breakfast and start the day ahead of others. Kiasu-ism! haha. Today was dedicated to Mama. Had to accompanied her to meet all her suppliers. But I had my fair share of shopping as well. We had very late lunch before I proceed to my favorite Johnny Danuarta saloon to have my hair and nails done.
JD has superbly friendly staffs. They will treat u like a queen or king when you step into their saloon. I told them what I wanted and they did their magic in an hours' time. Perfect!
Rushed back to the hotel and shower. The girls from Pianka came, looking gorgeous. By 630pm local time we left our hotel for the event venue which wasn't that far off.
We were greeted by friendly people of Global TV. Met a few friends from Global as well and they lead us our way. The red carpet was sure a long walkway! haha.
This year was kinda different. The reception was held before the event itself. The moment I entered the reception a pair of eyes greeted me with a big smile. It's Fique. Had a great chat with him over current issues and I'm so glad he gave his words of wisdom. Hady forever the charmer lah! No doubt about that.
This year's APM was nice especially the staging, the sound system and the crowd. I must say the best performance of the night was from Nana. She made all of us have goosebumps!! Gosh! Fique's vocal in Isabella was excellent but it was too short. His performances was just that and the duet with Hady. There's nothing to showcase his dance moves which I feel it's such a pity. Fique is like our Justin Timberlake. So if he's given the slot to do his stuffs, I'm sure he will capture many more ABGs. Nevertheless he still make us proud! Hady on the other hand was lucky to be singing Berserah, shown on Global TV. It was all good!
Afgan was just amazing! He's that humble dude who never fails to smile. Nidji, ST12, Dewi Sandra were all class performers. They entertained the crowd and the word showmanship definitely has to be credited to them. My favorite was Kotak. Damn solid and powerful!
Gigi stole the night when they were awarded the Special APM Award. In 15 years of their music career, they never fail to thank their management for bringing them this far. Something we should learn to appreciate; people who've played an important role in making pathways in our life.
After the event, my gang headed to KFF for supper. Met up with Bony and Mario there. Dafi was there too with Aizat, Hujan, Stacy and Ayu. Loads of laughters and gossips being shared! We left the area at around 3-ish. Me and Jana send everyone back before I met my friends for some late night partying.
Sunday 19thJuly
It was almost lunch when I got up so it was just nice for a swim. We went over to Sency for lunch, some shopping and meeting up with friends. Visited the saloon again for creambath, foot reflexology and finally decided to cut my hair.
Rudy (Jrocks' manager) picked us up at 7pm wib. He came with Chil (Bams' Samson's PA) and Wenz. It was like Silet+ Was2+Go Spot + all the other infotainment programs in one night. It was just crazy!! They brough us to Jaya Pub owned by the beautiful veteran actress Rima Melati. The interior of the pub was very old school just like what you see in Coyote Ugly or These Boots are made for walking. I like!
We had supper later at Menteng and was introduced to Batego (Bakso tempe goreng). They are just creative! hahahaha.
Monday 20thJuly
Time to depart. The trip feels so short! Everything in Jakarta was dope!

By the way, if you people are free head down to Jurong Point this Sunday 3pm as Syed Azmir and Ashidy will be performing alongside special appreances by Fasha Sanda & Erry Putra.

My predictions vs the results
I'm back people! Jakarta was never disappointing even with the bombing and stuffs. I was in the very safe zone despite being 10minutes away from Mega Kuningan, the area where the bombings took place. My hotel was situated just behind Pak Soeharto's residency ;) So everything was good.
I'll update more later.

Anugerah Planet Muzik 2008
Anugerah Planet Muzik 2008 will be held in Jakarta for the very first time. There's so much excitement (at first for me... but it has died now) and living up to expectations for the artistes performing. Like BM state last Sunday, the 4 performers were selected to perform based on their achievements in the country as well as their gaining popularity. Definitely Mediacorp radio has selected the best to represent oour nation. No doubt about it.
It's my 8th year attending APM. I missed out the 1st year (which was held at the now disfunction WTC) due to school commitment. The second to forth APM was attended with parents as we received invites. Mum has been kind supporting radio eversince she started business 16 years ago; buying airtime, sponsorship etc.
Since 2005 onwards, I attended APM as a person involving with the industry; either as a manager or representing the company. So 2006 was held at Suntec City and Ruffedge performed. Sein was introduced as a new member. The rest was history. 2007 was the sweetie pie Adam Af2. 2007 was in KL and we came as an entourage; The Lima, Dafi, KRU all in the van.
This year, I will be there to support and representing my company. No dress like last year cause I've got after party plans. Blanket party with Ally maybe? haha.
So before I packed my bag and flew off via Garuda, here's my predictions for APM2008. Rememeber it's just predictions and for fun sake:

Back on track!
I was up in KL last Saturday. A great trip I must say. I dragged Jana out of bed at 4am! It was quite a journey cause we experienced a little hiccup on the way there. My road trip with Jana hasn't been smooth. haha. We was once stucked at Senawang at 3am. Thank God we got great people to the rescue. Any way I had 3 very productive meetings.
But most importantly I had so much fun with my team. Loads of discussion on moving forward, gossips and laughter plus Faizal Tahir's songs in the car.
To LoveMusic Entertainment team, thank you for being my pillars of strength and putting me back on track again. I'm truly touched by your loyalty. Let's start from scratch again, work hard together and look forward to our Bali trip! Nothing beats a great trip with great company!
I have decided to go for APM 2009. It will be interesting to see what's the outcome is. I've planned to catch up with friends and Pak Osman of course. Israk Mikraj falls on 19th so I'll be back by then. How times flies! Soon it will be Ramadhan.
As for Shout Awards, I will send my team instead ;) Like every year, I will make predictions for APM. So I'll do mine tomorrow, all for fun sake ;)

Guess who's back!
I'm back from hibernation! Initial plan to privatize my blog was to stay away from people and just go hibernation for a while.But with the number of emails asking for invites were ridiculous, so I had to make it public again. Nope don't get me wrong. I didn't say I'm famous.. but I've got avid readers! yeay!
Any way I had a great seafood session with the people I love; my family plus D's. It's been a while since I last had seafood. There's reasons to celebrate. D finally passed his TP and Jana receive her distinction in International Business. So D drove us just now in his Daddy's Ford. Impreza next? haha.
After all that has happened, I am grateful cause I know who the true people are. I am also blessed cause there are people who kept me sane. Alhamdulilah. Thank you Allah for putting me through this test.
Another song stuck in my head. The best hip hop duo ever in ASIA! No doubt about it!
I need to pack some stuffs for my KL trip tomorrow. Just a day trip to settle some issues. So will it be SHOUTS Awards or APM?

I know its a very old song but somehow ever since Janz been sampling with it plus Sheyna's singing to it, Leona Lewis's song got stuck in my mind.
I too got better in time. Syukur Alhamdulilah. I believe Allah has set this as one of the hardest obstacle in my life but I've gotta accept it; terima Qada' & Qadar. Cause I believe HE knows what's best for each of his ummah. My daily prayers has certainly helped.

Phew!
I felt better; slightly better now especially after a long chat with 2 great individuals. They are people from this industry. It's not that sharing with people not from this industry is difficult but they don't know what's the industry is all about. They assumed to understand what you went through but they soon switch camps. But like I've said before I don't wanna influence any parties.
So both individuals are managers which makes them understood my situation very well. Don't get me wrong. I don't go around telling people my stories. Its only to people close and people who asked.
Min called me up to asked me few stuffs about work. The thing I really like about her is that dia tak bodoh sombong, something that our community needs to learn. Its very norm for her or Ally (Hady's manager) to ask for my opinion on things which they are unsure of. Then she asked,"Will they be performing for APM?" I replied, "No and they are no longer my boys..." There was an awkward silence before she asked me if everything's alright. I shared with her all the details. I mean even before this, we shared a lot about work, personal issues and others. As a manager, she understood very well what I went through and what managers do for their artistes.
Here's a brief discription of a manager's responsibilities and tasks: 1) Find shows - Propose to every potential organizers/producers/production houses for our artistes to appear and make performance or contribution 2) Once shows are confirmed, follow up with downpayment and details of show and later follow up with the balance 3) Updates the fanclub 4) Find outfit sponsors if a must - In Singapore it's difficult to find outfit sponsors unless you've got connections 5) Prepare minus one for artistes 6) Before event, make sure artistes have eaten - Alternatively food and drinks to be ready backstage plus loads of tissue 7) Do soundcheck at times (or most of the time) 8) Promote the songs to radios and ensure they stay on charts 9) PR with all the press and media - PR is a very important skill and it does pays off. 10) If you have artistes who wanna be known as composers and producers, you get them jobs such as theme songs, jingles or even introduce their creativity to other artistes 11) Ensure they deliver their best to the fans 12) Cover up the mess they did - Eg, their late coming, their ugly late night habits, their social life etc
So that's some of the stuffs we, managers do. And as managers we always want the best for the artistes and that also means restricting on performing at FREE SHOWS or FRIENDS' events. Artiste may not like it but we have to make them exclusive. If they are readily available then their market price will drop. Soon people will get bored as they are often seen everywhere.
After a good 45minutes with her, I came to my senses. She told me to stay strong, cheer up and keep on moving. Cause the field is always greener on the other side of the fence.
Even during the interview with Shai, I managed to stay calm and professional. Cause I know if I don't do that it will reflect badly on me and my company. As for them, I really dont know what they have said. Cause I dont bother to know.
As for me now, what's left are memories and pain. I am definitely gonna be stronger and handle people with cautious.
